This review is my first as a 26 year old – how depressing! It was helped, however, by a trip to The Corbet Arms in Uffington.

Burger review of The Corbet Arms

The Corbet Arms has amazing views over the whole of Shrewsbury and the River Severn and is one of the nicest places I can think of to go for a pint on a summer’s evening – something I would highly recommend.

I have been to The Corbet Arms for food and drink before and have always found their staff warm and welcoming and I am happy to report that this is still the case.

On the About page, I comment on how I regularly find myself bypassing other menu choices in favour of the burger section of the menu. This has only increased since starting this blog but of all the choices on the menu, the burger really was the most appealing to me!

There were two burgers to choose from; beef and falafel! I have had falafel before mistakenly thinking it was some kind of shredded lamb (not sure where I got that from?). Needless to say, I was massively disappointed and was sure not to make the same error again! Phew!

The meals I have had in The Corbet Arms in the past have been what I would describe as “rustic”. Some places you go can be too focused on presentation to the detriment of the meal but this is not the case here!

The burger arrived open (as you will see from the picture above). This gave me a chance to see all of the effort that had gone into making this burger and the toppings looked fresh, crisp and delicious. There was also a gherkin which was different!

Burger review of The Corbet Arms

The “homemade” boast was not unfounded as you could really tell that they had not simply removed the burger from the freezer and popped it in a pan. The burger patty was rather loosely packed and contained onion which was a really nice addition and gave the burger a delicious taste!

If I had to say something negative about the burger, you could argue that it was slightly dry but the hint of BBQ sauce more than made up for this. Other than that it’s all good news!

The whole meal appeared homemade and the chips were amazing – as was the coleslaw!

I’m so chuffed that I chose The Corbet Arms for my birthday and I would highly recommend it to anybody wanting a hearty meal with a great view and great service!

Good points – Homemade burger and chunky chips

Bad points – Slightly dry

Entire meal – 8.5

Burger – 9.0
